Mary Firestone was the first woman to receive an honorary doctor of humane letters degree from the [[University of West Florida]].
The [[Baars-Firestone Nature TrailWildlife Sanctuary]] at UWF is named for her, as is [[Firestone Boulevard]] in the [[Cordova Park]] neighborhood.
