Commissioners are chosen in partisan elections for four-year terms. There are currently no term limits.

The Commission meets in regular session beginning at 9:00 a.m. the second and fourth Thursday of the month in the Commissioner's Board Room in the Santa Rosa County Administrative Center, 6495 Caroline Street. Called meetings and workshops are scheduled periodically and are advertised and open to the public.
