Mose Sylvester Penton was Escambia County Sheriff from 1923 to 1932.
Career
In June 1923 he was appointed Chief of Police for the City of Pensacola. In October of the same year, Florida Governor Cary A. Hardee appointed Penton as Escambia County Sheriff. Penton was elected Sheriff in his own right in 1924, and was re-elected in 1928.
