Politician Jefferson B. Miller (born June 27 1959) has been a Republican member of the United States House of Representatives since 2001, representing the First District of Florida. His district includes all of Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, Walton, Holmes, and Washington Counties.
He is up for reelection on November 7, 2006.

Early life and education
Mr. Miller was born in St. Petersburg, Florida, and received a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism[1] from the University of Florida in 1984.[2] He was a real estate broker and a deputy sheriff before taking public office.[3] Miller lives in Chumuckla, Florida, which is located about 20 miles northeast of Pensacola.
Political Career
Florida House of Representatives
Mr. Miller was a member of the Florida House of Representatives from 1998 to 2001.[4] During his three years there, he was a member of the committes on Utilities & Telecommunications, Congressional Redistricting, Council for Ready Infrastructure, and Rules, Ethics & Elections.
United States House of Representatives
Mr. Miller entered the House in a special election to replace Joe Scarborough in 2001.
